I Don't Know Why I Was Surprised

Today we took the kids to a pumpkin patch. There were tons of beautiful gourds, all shapes and sizes. There were pony rides, a table where kids could do crafts, and a bounce house. After the pumpkin patch, we all went shopping and the kids got toy cars. It was a lovely day.

At dinner I asked the kids, "What was your favorite part of today?" I ask them this sometimes as a memory exercise, to make them think back about what had happened during the day.

Elise shouts, "The pony ride!"

Henry shouts, "The cement truck!"

A cement truck drove by while we were in the pumpkin patch. Apparently that really stuck with him for some reason.
