When you add a child to your family after you've already had pets, the pets get less attention. Waaaaaaay less attention.
Our four little kitties wait for those babies to go to sleep. Then they swarm me. They used to want to be left alone, but now they beg for attention. And as soon as I look their way now, they melt. They turn into purring machines. The mere possiblilty of attention makes them happy.
Sorry kitties. I still love you. I promise.
