Someone Else's Post

Just read this blog post and it was good. It was written about adopted children, but it would definitely apply to foster children as well. In fact, anyone who wants to be a compassionate parent could benefit from reading this lady's thoughts. Because biologically related to your family or not, every child has moments or hours or DAYS of crummy, frustrating behavior and it's really easy to get into a negative, crummy, frustrated place of parenting, as well. To take it personally. To forget that children aren't as emotionally developed as we want them to be sometimes. But in their fits of bad behavior, they still need us to be there for them and show them that we love them, even if we don't approve of their actions.
